Luc Ngan-Bac Giang Lychee Week opens in Ha Noi
VGP - The 'Luc Ngan-Bac Giang Lychee Week in Hanoi' opened at BigC Thang Long on June 13, aiming to bring Bac Giang province’s signature fruit closer to Hanoi consumers in the period of 2016-2020.

During the week-long event, big supermarkets and wholesale markets will sign contracts with Luc Ngan businesses, cooperatives and farm owners to buy lychees.
It is part of activities to promote the consumption of BacGiang Province’s Lục Ngạ
Deputy Head of the Department of Domestic Market under the Ministry of Industry and Trade Hoang, Anh Tuan, said that the lychee week in Ha Noi is a practical activity to introduce and promote high-quality Luc Ngan-Bac Giang lychees to the people of Ha Noi.
Tuan noted that lychees are now available in nearly all provinces and cities across the country.
Lychee is planted in a total area of 15,200 hectares in Luc Nga District, generating an annual yield of about 100,000 tons, with the production area in line with VietGAP criteria reaching 11,400 hectares.
Big C Viet Nam is scheduled to export the first shipments of lychees to Thailand in the next two days with triple the volume of 2017.
This is the third year Big C has hosted this event, which will run until June 20.
